Salicylic Acid Let's delve into the world of Salicylic Acid, a hero ingredient in many skincare products, particularly those geared towards acne-prone skin. Quick Links Skin Care Benefits Origin and History Amber Budd Products Complementary Ingredients Suitable Skin Types Shelf Life FAQ Salicylic Acid Skin Care Benefits Exfoliation of Dead Skin Cells: One of salicylic acid's benefits is its excellent exfoliating property. Moreo ver, it can reduce inflammation, further aiding in acne treatment. (1) (2) (3) (4) Controls Excess Sebum: Oily skin can often lead to acne breakouts. Salicylic acid helps regulate sebum production, thus controlling excess oil. By managing excess sebum, salicylic acid k eeps your skin free from the oiliness that can cause blemishes. (1) (2) Reduces Skin Inflammation: Salicylic acid is known to have anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe irritated and inflamed skin, reducing redness and swelling. Skin Care Benefits Amber Budd Products Skincare Products with Salicylic Acid Quick View Treat//Eliminate - Skin Serum for Oily and Combination Skin Price $84.00 Out of Stock Suitable Skin Types Suitable Skin Types Salicylic acid benefits a range of skin types, especially oily and acne-prone skin. It's proficient in managing excess sebum and removing dead skin cells, which helps in preventing breakouts. However, it's recommended to use it cautiously if you have dry or sensitive skin, as it might cause dryness or irritation if overused. Origin and History Salicylic acid, a form of beta hydroxy acid, was first discovered in the bark of the willow tree in the 19th century. It has been used throughout history to ease pain and inflammation. In modern times, it's recognized as a potent chemical exfoliant in skincare, utilized extensively in acne treatments due to its ability to penetrate deeper into the skin and dissolve excess oil. Origin and History Complementary Ingredients Complementary Ingredients Glycolic Acid: As an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), glycolic acid complements salicylic acid by offering surface exfoliation. While salicylic acid works deep in the pores, glycolic acid works on the skin's surface, enhancing the overall exfoliation process and leading to smoother, clearer skin. Moreover, glycolic acid can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots by promoting the shedding of dead skin cells and stimulating the regeneration of new ones. Niacinamide: This ingredient can help to regulate sebum production and maintain the skin's barrier function. When combined with salicylic acid, it can offer a comprehensive approach to managing oily and acne-prone skin, reducing both inflammation and excess oil production. Additionally, niacinamide's ability to improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores can complement salicylic acid's pore-cleansing action. Its benefits extend to the improvement of skin elasticity and the mitigation of fine lines and wrinkles. Hyaluronic Acid: To counteract potential dryness from salicylic acid treatments, hyaluronic acid is an ideal pairing. It offers intensive hydration without adding oil to the skin, helping to keep skin moisturized and balanced while using salicylic acid. Additionally, its humectant properties attract and lock in moisture, promoting a plump and youthful appearance, which helps to alleviate any potential dryness or tightness caused by the salicylic acid. Storage and Shelf Life Like most skincare products, salicylic acid should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. The shelf life of salicylic acid products typically ranges from 6 months to a year, depending on the specific formulation. It's crucial to check the packaging for precise storage instructions and the expiration date. Storage & Shelf Life FAQ Frequently Asked Questions Q: How does salicylic acid work on acne? A: Salicylic acid penetrates the skin to dissolve the debris that clogs pores, thereby treating and preventing acne. Q: Can salicylic acid cause skin irritation? A: Yes, while salicylic acid is generally safe, it can cause skin irritation, especially in those with sensitive skin or when used excessively. Q: How often should I use salicylic acid? A: Depending on your skin type and the product's formulation, you might use it daily or a few times per week. Q: Can I use salicylic acid with other skincare ingredients? A: Yes, salicylic acid can be paired with other skincare ingredients, like glycolic acid and niacinamide, to enhance its benefits. Q: Does salicylic acid help with oily skin? A: Yes, salicylic acid helps regulate sebum production, thus controlling excess oil on the skin. Q: Can I have an allergic reaction to salicylic acid? A: Although rare, a severe allergic reaction is possible. Always do a patch test before using a new product with salicylic acid. Q: What should I do if I used too much salicylic acid? A: Discontinue use immediately if you notice any signs of severe skin irritation or allergic reaction. Consult with a dermatologist if symptoms persist. Q: How does salicylic acid compare to other beta hydroxy acids? A: Salicylic acid is the most common type of beta hydroxy acid and is especially effective in treating acne due to its ability to penetrate deeper into the skin's pores. Q: What types of skin conditions can benefit from a salicylic acid treatment? A: Salicylic acid is highly effective at treating acne-prone skin, thanks to its ability to deeply exfoliate and unclog pores. It also helps control oil production, reduce inflammation, and even combat dark spots and hyperpigmentation. Q: Are chemical exfoliants like salicylic acid safe to use every day? A: While salicylic acid is generally safe, its daily use depends on the product's concentration and how your skin reacts to it. For some, daily use may lead to dryness and irritation. It's advisable to start slow, allowing your skin time to adjust, and then gradually increase frequency as tolerated. Q: How does salicylic acid target whiteheads? A: As an oil-soluble beta hydroxy acid, salicylic acid targets whiteheads by penetrating the pore lining and exfoliating both the surface skin cells and within the pores. This helps unclog the pores by breaking down the sebum and dead skin cells that cause whiteheads. Q: How does salicylic acid help exfoliate dead skin? A: Salicylic acid works as a keratolytic, meaning it helps soften the keratin that holds skin cells together on the surface of the skin. This encourages the shedding of dead skin cells and makes room for new cell growth. Q: Can salicylic acid help with dark spots? A: Yes, by exfoliating deep within the pores and on the surface, salicylic acid can help reduce the appearance of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, commonly known as dark spots. However, it's crucial to protect your skin with sunscreen during the day, as the new skin revealed will be more sensitive to sun exposure. Q: Can I use other skincare products along with salicylic acid? A: Yes, you can use other salicylic acid skin products in conjunction with salicylic acid, but it's important to carefully monitor your skin's reaction. Using multiple products with salicylic acid can increase the chances of over-exfoliation and irritation. As always, it's recommended to gradually introduce new products to your routine.

Cryo T Shock treatment causes a natural controlled cell death (or fat cell apoptosis). Does Cryo T Shock help in burning fat faster? Cryo T Shock kick starts your body's cytokines and other inflammatory mediators that help eliminate fat cells. The fat removal process is assisted through working out within an hour or two of treatment, or by sitting in an infrared sauna. Does thermal shock cause any redness? Thermal shock does cause a slight amount of redness to occur in the localized fat treatment area / surrounding tissue. There area chemical reactions happening though the alternating warm and cold cycle. Any temporary redness is normal and will reduce within a few hours. Does Cryo Therapy Hurt? No, which is part of what makes Cryo T Shock amazing. It is a noninvasive treatment meaning that it never penetrates the skin and causes very little discomfort unlike cosmetic and laser therapy. Our machine has an electronic temperature sensor located at the head of the device that controls the temperature and adipose tissue depth. The T Shock machine only affects the fatty deposits on your top fat layer (subcutaneous fat cells). Why does this work - and what is Lipolysis? T Shock therapy causes the blood vessels in the surrounding tissue to dilate and constrict causing lipolysis - which is the breaking down of fat cells. When you have a problem area of fat tissues - and trust us - we do too, you can't eliminate the fat cells due to inadequate blood supply. This makes it difficult for your body to access the fat cells and get the fat removal that we want. In Simple Terms - We like to think of fat cells as objects in a garage. If you have a full garage...it's harder to get to the items in the back. This process opens the lanes in the garage (or blood vessels) in order for your body gradually eliminate the affected fat cells. Is Cryo T Shock a version of Cool Sculpting? No. Cryo T Shock is not a Coolsculpting treatment or Coolsculpting procedure. Cryo T Shock is one of the best body contouring procedures available because it's a non invasive method (no surgical procedure or injection) to see major fat loss without the lumps and bumps possible with cool sculpting. weld(ed) jewelry for a life well lived QUICK WINS "Permanent jewelry, (also referred to as permanent bracelets, forever bracelets or welded jewelry) is to me, an option to celebrate, signify, commemorate events, show a bond with someone you love - a bestie, mom, daughter, sister, friend, anyone! - memorialize, honor events, treat yourself - for a moment in your life, similar to a tattoo or piercing. And while it is technically called "permanent" - it can be removed should you need or desire to remove it. I knew I wanted to offer high-quality pieces - something that truly could be worn and lived in. After all, this is Weld(ed) - jewelry for a life well lived." - Amber founder, weld(ed) & Amber Budd Atelier What is Atelier? Late Policy and Service Change Policy 1. I understand I am reserving a specific time slot for my appointment. If I arrive late for any reason, my service may be shortened, modified, or rescheduled at the service provider's discretion. 2. It is up to my service provider to determine if there is enough time to safely and effectively complete the treatment. If there is insufficient time due to my late arrival, I will be charged the full price for the appointment, per the cancellation policy. 5. If I am late, regardless of the time remaining upon my arrival, if my service provider determines we can still safely proceed with the service within my original time slot, I will be charged 100% of the scheduled service and the time missed due to my tardiness will not be made up for by the service provider nor discounted. How long does my hair need to be for waxing? 1/4" - 1/2" (about the length of a grain of rice) - any longer than that and we run the risk of hairs getting tangled or crossed, and the wax won't be as effective, and may be more painful for you. How do I prepare for a body wax (bikini, brazilian, etc)" The day before the wax, gently exfoliate the area. Do not wear any body lotion, oil or perfume in the area to be waxed on the day of your appointment. I'm scheduled for a bikini/brazilian/french bikini wax, and I'm on my period....what do I do?" It's entirely up to you if you'd like to still have your wax service. Most women experience a bit more sensitivity around their periods. If you do decide to go ahead with the wax, please wear a tampon, and let me know that you're on your period when you arrive. If you'd like to reschedule for after your period, that's okay too, just do so at least 24 hours ahead of time so I can open that appointment time for other clients. Pre and Post care for all wax services -do not tan for a week prior to waxing -no lotion, oil, or perfume in the area to be waxed -stay out of the sun for 24 hours prior to waxing -post wax, stay out of the sun for 24 hours, and wear spf when you do go out in the sun -avoid tight clothing for the first few hours post wax for comfort -do not pick at ingrown hairs. If you have trouble with ingrown hairs, please let Amber know so we can discuss options for treatment -all waxing should be done on a regular basis for best results. Hair will grow back more fine, there is less chance of ingrown hairs, and it's less painful if you get on a regular wax schedule. We recommend 3-5 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows. What products do you carry? Amber Budd Skincare, Amber Budd Brows, Dysport, Xeomin, Botox, Scinic SPF, Skin Script Rx, Face Reality Acne Skincare, Sarah Happ, Aviva Tan I just need to talk to you about product/pick up product? It's best if you can come with clean, dry skin, with nothing on it.. If you have photos of a look you love, bring them with! I have a facial booked with you, what should I expect?"
